The OUAC is seeking a Data Reporting Specialist for its Data and Policy Analysis team.
Job Responsibilities
- Consult with partners to determine data and/or reporting needs
- Extract and integrate new and existing data sources
- Write reports and deliver data using advanced queries/scripts in SQL
- Promote standardization across the various requests for information to ensure efficiency and quality
- Document data processes and project details in the documentation system
- Develop and build reports using Tableau and other tools, including PeopleSoft Query, that deliver accurate and effective information to diverse audiences
Qualifications Sought
- University degree in a related discipline
- Strong experience working with data sets for reporting and analysis
- Strong knowledge and proficient use of SQL and complex SQL queries
- Strong knowledge of and experience with data visualization and reporting tools
- Experience with Tableau, including its Data Management and Server Management tools
Abilities and Skills for the Ideal Candidate
- Ability to translate user needs into detailed technical specifications
- Ability to use various tools to explore, troubleshoot and verify data
- Ability to standardize, document and replicate data processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience providing effective support and customer service to data end-users
Qualifications Considered an Asset
- Programming skills, e.g., Oracle development tools
- Knowledge of the Ontario university sector
Hours of Work
- Monday through Friday, 4.5 days per week (32 hours).
- On-site work is required from Mondays to Wednesdays. Remote work arrangements may be an option on Thursdays and Fridays.
